Privacy Notice
This notice explains how Astut Ltd ("Astut", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you request our catalogue and complete our feedback questionnaire. We are the data controller for this information.
Who we are
Astut Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16376511), at 1 Merryweather, Benson, Wallingford, Oxfordshire, OX10 6GF. We are registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office under registration ZB973968. For any question about this notice or your data, contact us at info@astut.co.uk.
What we collect
- Contact details you give us: your name, work email address, and — if you choose to provide them — your company and role.
- Questionnaire responses: the answers you submit to our feedback questionnaire, including any free-text comments you write.
We do not use cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics on this site, and we do not collect any special-category data. Our hosting provider keeps standard, short-lived server logs for security and reliability.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To send you the catalogue and a confirmation email — on the basis of your consent, which you give by submitting the form and confirming your email address (double opt-in).
- To send you one follow-up email inviting your feedback— on the basis of your consent. You can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in that email.
- To analyse questionnaire responses to improve our catalogue and technology — on the basis of ourlegitimate interests in developing our products, weighed against your interests and rights.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data or share it for others' marketing. We use a small number of service providers ("processors") who act only on our instructions:
- Resend — sends our emails and holds our contact list.
- Railway — hosts the site and the database that stores your details.
Some of these providers are based in, or process data in, the United States. Where your data is transferred outside the UK or EEA, that transfer is covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses together with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum (or, where it applies, an adequacy decision or the UK extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework), so it stays protected to UK and EU standards.
How long we keep it
- If you never confirm your email, we delete your details within90 days.
- If you confirm, we keep your contact details and questionnaire responses until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, after which we remove them promptly.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased ("right to be forgotten");
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- receive a copy of your data in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time.
To exercise any of these, email info@astut.co.uk. You can also unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any message we send you — that takes effect immediately.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. If you're in the EU/EEA, you may instead complain to your local data protection authority.
